Hiking in the Pre-Alps: Herzogstand
The best way to take a little break from our beginning study routine is to have some fresh air and enjoy Bavaria's beautiful outdoors! .Herzogstand is one of Munich's Hausberge (translated “house mountain”)
and is the ideal starting point for your Bavarian Pre-Alps experience. The hike up takes approximately four hours and we ascend almost 1000 meters.
The peak offers a magnificient 360° panorama view towards the Alps, Kochelsee and Walchensee, the deepest alpine lake in Germany.
As this is a hike and not a simple walk it is important that you have some endurance.
Additionally, you should dress according to the weather (e.g.
water/windproof jacket) and wear appropriate shoes (hiking boots at best). Also don’t forget to take enough water and a snack!
