Recreational sports: offered by the City of Munich

During the week, in the afternoons or evenings, the sports halls of Munich's schools offer all kinds of sport courses for people to take part in. You pay with the cheap “Freizeitsport-Tickets” (recreational sports ticket), which you need to purchase before attending. You can buy them at the city information in the town hall at Marienplatz, during the following hours:  Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

One hour merely costs €2.60, a multiple ticket (for 4 hours) only €10. In some very rare cases, you need 2 tickets for one hour.

The types of sport range from basketball to capoeira, fitness training, kickboxing, free running, qi gong, yoga and zumba.

Please note: The courses only take place on school days of the Bavarian school calendar (NOT during the school holidays [Green])!
