The Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern is extending its hall of residence at the Schwere-Reiter-Straße. In October 2022, the topping-out ceremony was celebrated. Once the construction work is completed, double the amount of students will be able to live here than was the case before.
The building method of this urban consolidation project is particularly innovative: except for the emergency stairwells and the basement, all indoor load-bearing walls and ceilings as well as the façades are made of local spruce.
Bavarian Construction Minister Christian Bernreiter, Bavarian State Minister for Science Markus Blume, Munich's Mayor Dieter Reiter as well as architect Robert Härtl each said a couple of words to celebrate the occasion.
