Hike to Brentenjoch - Christmas rose magic on Kufstein’s city mountain

The Brentenjoch (1204m), one of the three Kufstein city mountains, is known for one of the largest occurrences of Christmas roses in the Eastern Alps. Immediately after the snow melts, thousands of the filigree blossoms shoot out of the forest ground. Since the abundance of blossoms spreads at altitudes between 800 and 1300 metres, the fascinating natural spectacle usually reveals itself well into April. It is worth making a detour to the "Venedigerblick" viewpoint, which, boldly situated on an edge of the terrain, offers a view of the 3657-metre-high “Großvenediger”. In addition, the “Berghaus Aschenbrenner” offers a place to stop for a bite to eat and a tasty drink.
